Please do not use the "power search" box on the Gale UXL interface (home page). Search each of the databases individually: open them and search from that database's search box. On the Student Resource Center Junior, use the "News" and "Magazines" tab for current information. Take note of the date so that you can assess the currency (How recent is it? Has the information changed since then?) of the news article. Also remember to take a look at related subject headings on the left side of the page. We have not yet used Infotrac, but you can give it a try. Infotrac is newspaper database.
Did you know? Google has a News search engine. When you open Google, click on the "More" link at the top of the page, and then select "Even More." This will bring you to "News", which can be found under the "Media" heading.

World Food Programme - This is a UN organization that focuses on providing food to starving people around the world. Site includes statistics and an interactive hunger map as well as the causes of hunger.
Save the Children - Discusses strategies to end world hunger among children.
FIAN - This is an international human rights organization whose purpose is to document violations of the right to food and to respond where people are denied food. Selecting the World Wide link brings you to statistics by country.
Human Rights Education Association - Includes study guides on the right to adequate food, governmental policies and analysis of the causes of hunger in specific geographic regions.
Feed the Future - The U.S. Government's Global Hunger and Food Security Initiative. Includes countries, a progress chart and an interactive map.
